Gillian Rose has had a career in program development, acquisition, distribution and production. She has worked for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Carlton Television in London, The Washington Post Company/Newsweek Productions, CNET Television and is currently Vice President, Acquisitions, Co-Productions and Sales for PBS station WLIW New York, part of WNET.org. In her current position she acquires national rights for programming shown on PBS stations across the country and manages five national weekly series. Production experience includes shows for Discovery, Court TV, CNBC etc.

Ms. Rose started her career as a print journalist in her native England writing about international television for a weekly newspaper. She was later offered a job in New York becoming Deputy Director of the International TV Academy of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Ms. Rose is currently Chairman of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) East Coast having served as Vice Chair prior to that. She was Co-Chair of the International Emmy Awards Committee for seven years. In her spare time she runs a Foundation called The Rosemary Pencil Foundation that sends children in Malawi to school.
